If you went through the 'Types of Digital Marketing - 01' , You might have got an idea regarding what is digital marketing and some of the few types. 
So, here are the simplified descriptions about the rest that we haven't discussed yet.

Email Marketing
            Sending promotional messages, hoping that the prospects clicks on it, through Email is known as Email Marketing.
But in Email Marketing, you should clearly include,
  • Individualized content, both body and subject
  • What type of mails the subscribers get
  • An Email signature that also offers a clear unsubscribe option.
  • Integration of both transactional and promotional Email.
Email Marketing is a proven, effective technique all on it's own which can help you to promote your business to a targeted audience with relevant content.

There are few practices that can be used for an effective Email marketing campaign.
  • Audience segmentation
  • Mobile friendliness
  • Having a campaign schedule
  • Run A/B tests

Affiliate Marketing
                Affiliate marketing is a tactic  that lets someone make money by promoting another persons business.  This works using a revenue sharing model. 

If you are the Affiliate, you get a commission every time someone purchases the item that you promote and if you are the Merchant, you pay the Affiliate for every sale they help you make.

It is mainly based on the connections build through digital platform.
      

Native Marketing
               Blending advertisements with it's surrounding content is called as Native Marketing. The advertisements you see within a blog or a playing video content can be shown as examples.

This method is mainly created in reaction to the cynicism of today's consumers towards ads. ( as many viewers ignore direct ads) 

But it's important to always label the ads clearly using words like ' promoted' or 'sponsored'.

Digital Marketing also called as Online Marketing , is the promotion of brands to connect with potential customers using the internet and other forms of digital communication.

This includes not only email, social media, and web based advertising but also text and multimedia messages as a marketing channel.

  • PPC
  • Content marketing
  • Email marketing
  • Affiliate marketing
  • Native marketing 
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
         As ' The Balance' states, " SEO is the art and science of making web pages attractive to search engine." SEO is simply, the tactics used to rank the highest position in SERP (Search Engine Results Page). This requires to research and weigh different contributing factors to achieve the highest possible ranking on a SERP. The most optimizing a web page,
1. Quality of the content
2. Level of user engagement
3. Mobile Friendliness
4. Number and quality of inbound links

 

Ranking on the SERP depends on the keywords used to describe the brand. Ultimately the goal of SEO is to rank on the first page of a SERP as it ensures that those searching for a specific quarry related to the brand can easily find the product or service. 
The mostly used search engine for SEO is Google.

PPC (Pay Per Click)
                  While SEO is considered as an organic marketing method, which absolutely costs nothing, PPC can be it's total opposite. In this you have to pay a fee every time someone clicks  on your digital ad or web page. That's why it says, PAY PER CLICK.  but instead of paying a set amount to constantly run targeted ads on your online channels, in this you only pay for the ads individuals interact with.

Google ads are one of the most common types of PPC Marketing.

The ads were placed on SERPs based on,
        1  Ad Quality
        2 Keyword relevancy
        3 Landing page quality
        4 Bid amount

PPC campaigns have one or more target actions that viewers are meant to complete after clicking on the ad, may be a purchase of CTA (Call To Action).

Content Marketing
          A strategy based on the distribution of relevant and valuable content to a target audience. The goal is to attract leads that ultimately converts into customers. But it is different from traditional marketing because instead of enticing prospects with potential value from a product or service, it offers value for free in the form of written or presented material.

                      Newsletter
                      Video or Audio transcripts
                      Whitepapers
                       Infographics
This can be tricky as it will be able to rank highly in SERP while also engaging people who will read it, share it and interact further with the brand. If the content is relevant, it can establish sharing strong relationships through the pipeline.
